Good morning class!

Today, I have have one thing for you to do. 

 I want you to write a three or four paragraph essay on your blog.  You will have 3 choices of IELTS style questions - choose 1:

1) In many countries today, respect is not shown to older people.  What do you think may be the reasons for this? What problems can this make in society?

2) Some people think that strict punishments for driving offences are the key to reducing traffic accidents.  Other people believe that doing other things would help to improve road safety. 
--Discuss both views and give your opinion.

3) It is important that children with many different abilities and from a variety of social backgrounds (religions, income levels, races & languages) mix with each other at school. --To what extent/How much do you agree or disagree?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant/connected examples from your knowledge or experience.

Your answer should have a short introduction of 2-4 sentences, 1 or 2 body paragraphs with examples for a total of at least 6-8 sentences, and a short conclusion of 2-4 sentences.

A blessed 1st day of Ramadan to those of you who are observing Ramadan!

Today in class, I have two things for you to do.

1) - blog journal 1- about pets -  "Many Americans are obsessed (super crazy) with their pets.  Some people treat them like a member of the family and spend a lot of money on them. They buy clothes and special things for their pets.  They pay a lot of money for health care.  Some people even travel with them. 

What do you think about this?  Have you ever had a pet?  Do you think this behavior of the pet owners is normal?  How do people in your country think about pets?"

Kennedy, Martin Luther King, and Barrack Obama have made important contributions (gifts) to the people of the United States.  Name another world leader you think is important.  Give specific (detailed) reasons why you think this person is important.  --What did they do to help their country? What did they do to help other countries.  Please give a lot of information."
